Welcome to The Langstrath in Borrowdale
The Langstrath Country Inn provides quality hotel guest accommodation in the beautiful Borrowdale Valley, not far from the shores of Derwentwater. Set at the bottom of the Langstrath valley and away from the main road in the quiet unspoilt Lakeland village of Stonethwaite ‘The Langstrath’ is a small family run haven for walkers and lovers of the countryside and the only true pub in the valley. It was built around 1590 as a miners cottage and has over the years been converted and extended to what it is today. We have eleven comfortable bedrooms, one being dog friendly in it’s own fenced garden, all en-suite and boasting magnificent views of the surrounding Lakeland fells. We have a lounge for residents, a bar with a traditonal pub like feel and a restaurant where all are welcome. Wherever possible we use locally sourced produce, you may be lucky enough to sample Herdwick lamb from our neighbours at Yew Tree Farm in Rosthwaite.
The Langstrath Country Inn is situated centrally in the Northern Lakes and is also an ideal base for those attempting England’s highest peak, Scafell Pike. We are well known for being on the route of two famous walking routes – Wainright’s Coast to Coast and the Cumbrian Way… or maybe try the Via Ferrata at Honister Slate Mine
